remember that classic line from "christmas vacation" where clark w.'s bro-in-law empties his waste into the storm drain because the sh*tter was full? well, apparently our sh*tter was full too! we had a HUGE explosion in the bathroom downstairs this afternoon. i was running the washing machine and KABOOM---water (and apparently WEEKS worth of waste matter)up through the toilet and ALL over the bathroom, down the heat vents, down the hall, into the laundry room..at LEAST 1/2" deep in some spots. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE! i think we actually handled it REALLY well. ben missed Xmas eve dinner and festivities (someone had to be here for the plumber and to clean up, and i had to make sure my kids had a memorable night). it wasn't the IDEAL situation, but we'll make up for it tomorrow! and besides, we still consider ourselves VERY blessed. i couldn't stop thinking about a story Ben's grandma typed up and sent us for Xmas this year. she was working on Xmas eve in the ICU as a nurse. a family was in a car accident and lost their 3 year old son. it really puts something like this in perspective!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

That really stinks. ;)
What a crappy evening! You're always full of crap over there at the Bennett household. :) What caused it, did the plumber say? Crazy. Merry Christmas
pretty much CRAP caused it. (and possible a hotwheels car that was flushed...OOPS!)
possiblY that is
oh dear me...ironically, while you were dealing with the full sh*tter, we were WATCHING it ~ part of a nostalgic Christmas movie evening. ;) I hope it all works out in the end...or was that what caused it in the first place?
What great perspective to have on the situation.I hope all wasn't lost on the stinky event.
Merry X-mas
like the bumper sticker says..."sh*t happens"
or like aunt ellen says, "life is a SH*T sandwhich and you gotta take a bite every day!"
Uggg!! Good job on keeping perspective!
that is so crappy. when life gives you crap, clean it up. i love checking in on your family. love your sweet ways. i think my heart grew today.
yUCK! i'M SO sorry that happened.
I will travel to WA next year for Christmas and crap on your floor. For the memories, and the good times remembered. Zak
