So tomorrow is our 9th wedding anniversary. I cannot believe how QUICKLY the time has gone! I remember the day like it was yesterday. there was nothing ordinary about it, but it was such a special day. as many of you know, this was the 2nd marriage for both ben & i. and after you have felt "WRONG" you know "RIGHT"! our first date was august 26th and we were married december 19. after all, as my father pointed out we had both "tasted of the forbidden fruit" so he advised a short engagement. we decided december was the best time because i was teaching school and time off meant time without pay! however, a san diego wedding 6 days before Christmas was NOT going to be a popular idea, so...we eloped, which took ALL of the stress and pressure off of us. We were married in the San Diego temple. Highlights were sleeping in the same hotel room the night before (hey...we weren't STUPID enough to screw up the NIGHT BEFORE our wedding!! besides, we were poor students!), finding my boquet 1/2 dead the next morning (hotel coolers + bridal boquets = BAD IDEA!), ben forgetting black socks (hence the white beauties) and showing up 30 minutes late because we couldn't find the parking lot entrance! after we got there and apologized to the lady checking us in she shrugged and said, "its your day! are your escorts here?" OOPS! us: "uh, we were hoping we could BORROW some". so we did. here are some pix...

for our reception we had a mexican fiesta (3 months later...everyone was planning for a MARCH wedding after all...we fooled 'em!) we had a mariachi band, virgin margaritas and a taco bar. it was a blast! favors were "CHARM" blow pops w/this poem: "The past is gone, but life moves one without a trace of harm. So never fear, for love is here, the 2nd time's the charm!" we had such a great day. my aunt and her friends worked so hard to put this on for us and we still appreciate it SO much!!!
